About Me
Hi, my name is Michael Sanders.
I specialize in helping men and women, ages 40+, who are at risk of developing dementia or Alzheimer’s to regain their hope, reclaim their health, and live an active, independent, and fulfilling life. I founded Accelerating Wellness over a decade ago to help my clients optimize their cognitive, physical, and emotional health.

I chose to focus on cognitive decline because a close friend's dad was diagnosed with dementia back in 2016 and I saw how hard it hit their family. He had been a successful entrepreneur, an athlete, and a wonderful father. This wonderful man, at the age of sixty-five, who did great things with his life was slowly fading away.
They had lost all hope and the medical doctors offered no solutions. As a health coach, I felt helpless. Then in 2017, I read Dale Bredesen's book, The End of Alzheimer's, and I attended the Reversing Cognitive Decline conference offered by the Institute for Functional Medicine that same year. Dr. Bredesen and a team of functional medicine doctors shared protocols for preventing and reversing dementia.

This changed everything for me and allowed me to bring hope to families who had previously lost all of theirs.
I’m a National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach, a ReCODE 2.0 Certified Health Coach, and a Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach. I’ve trained with Apollo Health, the Functional Medicine Coaching Academy, The Institute for Functional Medicine, Duke University’s Center for Integrative Medicine, and The Institute for Integrative Nutrition. I’m also a Certified Somatic Coach through The Strozzi Institute. I’ve done ontological and leadership coursework with Aletheia, the Newfield Network, and the Institute for Generative Leadership. I received my MBA from Fordham University and my undergraduate degree from Boston University.
Outside of work, I enjoy being a grandfather and having meaningful conversations with friends and family, dancing, hiking, and backpacking in the deserts and mountains of the Southwest.
One more thing… I’m writing a forthcoming book, Integral Wellness: The 7 Practices for Optimizing Hope, Well-being, and Cognitive Health.
